Free Vitamin Water and really Cheap Dove Shampoo at CVS!

I recently became a fan of Vitamin Water on Facebook and was mailed a coupon for a free Vitman Water...so I decided to use it yesterday when I went and scored some really cheap Dove Shampoo...

Vitamin Water:$1.00
Dove Shampoo: $4.49
Dove Shampoo: $4.49
Tax:$.30
Total Cost: $10.28
Coupons used:
FREE Vitamin Water (Which I got an extra .49 cents off) the coupon said up to $1.49 value and the water is usually $1.69 even though it was on sale for $1 the cashier gave me the whole value of the coupon.
$.2.50/2 Coupon for the 2 Dove Shampoos
$5 ECB from a previous purchase
Total off: $8.99

Total OOP: $1.29

Total Savings of  87%

But that is not ALL.....I also pocketed $4.49 in Extra Care Bucks to use for future purchases so when you through that in this deal was actually a $3.20 money maker!!!!! LOVE IT!!!

Kmart

I only paid $2.10 for the 5 bags of Hershey's candy pictured!!!!

Back in Februray I shopped at Kmart when they were running a special on the Hershey's pieces candy. Buy $10 worth of candy and get a $10 gift card to use for the purchase of Hershey's candy at Kmart. I of course did not spend the whole $10 back in February because I had $3.00 in coupons so I only paid $7.00 then submitted the form that printed from the Catalina printer at the register when I checked out.

A few weeks ago I recieved the gift card in the mail and this week Kmart had the Hershey's candy on sale for $2.96/bag. I got 2 bags of the Hershey's minature candy bars, 2 bags of the Hershey's kisses with caramel and 1 bag of the Reese's Dark peanut butter cup minatures...mmmmmmmm

Total cost of candy: $14.10
Used (2) $1/1 coupons
New total: $12.10
Minus the $10 gift card
Total OOP:  $2.10

This was a pretty SWEET deal.....in more ways than one!!!!!

Problem with KMart Coupon

OK so it appears there are issues with the Kmart coupon for $10 off your next purchase of $20....it seems that when trying to use it at Kmart folks are having problems with the manager telling them it has to be emailed to you and that it was only intended for NY stores...even though that was not printed on the coupon....Kmart is calling the coupon fraudulant even though it was on their website....I am not going to try to use it at Publix even though they would probably take it....Publix is so good about taking all kinds of competitors coupons that is it not worth the risk of using something that could be deemed fraudulant that could cause Publix to want to stop taking competitors coupons........sorry about posting it just to find out Kmart is not honoring it even though they say it is a misprint that it does not limit it to NY stores and that it had to come to you via email....whatever Kmart not a popular or good customer service move......

Do You Like Kashi Products?

Awesome trip to CVS today to score a great deal on Koshi products(which are a healthier choice which is good since my husband and I are working hard at the gym to get in shape) I also got a great deal on deoderant and Betty Crocker Warm Sensations....

I paid a total of $7.97 OOP for the above items. I received $5 back in ECB for the Dove Deoderant so it was like getting all of the above items for $2.97...what a deal......

7 Bx of Kashi Cereal(glad I went early this is all they had left would have had to get raincheck)
1 Bx of Kashi TLC Bars
1 Bx of Kashi Crackers
4 Men's Degree deoderant
2 Women's Dove Deoderant
2 Betty Crocker Warm Delights

Total Retail Price: $71.13
Used $29 in Manufacturer Coupons
Used $7 in ECB from previous visit
Minus $28.27 sale price on items

Savings of 90%....I just absolutely love CVS!!!!

Do not pay the horrific cost of Razor Cartridge Refills

I cannot believe what they want to charge for razor cartridge refills...for the Gillette Fusion Razor it typically will run over $14 for a 4pk of cartridge refills...no let me tell you what I paid for the above 2 brand new razors that include a refill cartridge so you get the same amount of blades that you get with the 4pk refill.

Razors on sale for $7 each. Target had a gift card special if you buy 2 Gillette Fusion Razors you get a $5 dollar gift card. So even just at this if you paid $14 out of pocket for each razor and then took away the gift card you got back I would have paid a total of $9 out of pocket which is less than the cost of a 4 pk refill. But I did not even pay $14 out of pocket for the above...here is actually what I paid.

2 Razors $14
minus $8 used (2) $4/1 coupons from P&G insert
Total Cost of the Razors: $6.00
Tax: .63
Total OOP: $6.63
But remember that I pocketed the $5 gift card that is pictured above so when you take that away the total it cost me was actually $1.63 of which .63 cents was tax so I paid $1 for 4 blades that would have cost me $14 in the refill pack.....now that is what I call awesome savings....at 73% savings on the deal I did today...compared to what I would have paid if I had paid $14 for a 4pk refill it is a 93% savings.....I am constantly looking for these kind of deals so that I don't have gulp as I go to the register and pay $14 for 4 razor blades......

Really Cheap Milk at CVS!!!!!!

Okay I cannot believe the SWEET deal I got on milk today at CVS!!! I went there thinking I was going to be getting a cheap deal on milk because CVS had TG Lee milk this week for $2.19 a gallon with your CVS ExtraCare Card...which is a decent price on milk but I was able to snag a couple of $1/1 coupons from the internet so I am thinking this is really a good price because it would make the milke $1.19 a gallon......and the way our family drinks milk I wish I had a couple more of those dollar off coupons but what I did not expect to happen is what happened when I checked out........I got $2 back in ExtraCare bucks for my 2 gallons of milk so that basically means I paid .19 cents each for a  gallon of milk......

Shopping Trip to Publix.....including items for Buckets of Hope for Haiti

There are 2 reasons for the fact that I have 2 pictures on this post. For one there was too much to fit in one picture very well and the other thing is the 2nd picture is actually of items that I bought for the Buckets of Hope for Haiti campaign that our church is participating in. I did not have any coupons for these items. They totaled $24.12 the pasta was buy one get on free so this total includes only 1 of the pastas. So when I do my totals below I will take this out because this was a separate thing I purchased to give away and knew I did not have coupons for the items. Today I spent $39.66 and saved $83.10 which was a 68% savings. I used a $10/$50 CVS coupon......I love these they really help you bring your total down quickly....Even if you add the items I bought for the Buckets of Hope back in it would equate to a 57% savings which is not bad either...... I listed below what I got(not including the items in the 2nd picture)

4 Jars of Classico Pasta Sauce
8 Cans of Progresso Soup
4 Coffee Mate Liquid Creamers(got a sweet deal on these...had (4) $1/1 Food Lion coupons and (2) .50/1 manufacturer coupons the cost of these were 3/$5(or$1.67 ea) well I had $5 in coupons so I got all 4 of these creamers for $1.67 so it was like getting 3 free and we use a lot of creamer at our house so this was a really sweet deal.....
3 Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
6 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
2 Coles Breadsticks
4 Mueller's Whole Wheat Pasta
2 Rubbermaid Easy Find Produce Containers
2 Green Giant Frozen Boxed Vegis
8 Cans of Green Giant Vegis

Make sure and get rainchecks!!!

I waited to try to grab the Dove Men's Body Wash deal that was at CVS last week until Saturday and of course when I went to 3 different CVS stores they were all out. The deal was buy a Dove Men's Bodywash for $5.49 and get $5.49 back in extra care bucks. I had (2) $1.25/1 coupons so since they were out I got a raincheck for 2 of the bodywashes. What the raincheck allows you to do is get the deal that is being offered at anytime in the future when the item is back in stock. I went to CVS today because they usually get their deliveries on Thursdays and sure enough they had it back in stock. This is the deal I got....

Kmart

Kmart Trip

Ok....so I don't usually shop at Kmart but I saw in the sale paper this week that they have a loyalty program they are offering that can be used at Kmart, Sears and Lands End....so I said what the heck I will just stop in and sign up. You get 1% back in rewards for qualified purchases at the above stores, a plus to this program over the one at CVS is that the rewards are stored on your card so no having to keep up with pieces of paper like the extra care bucks. You have a chance to win great prizes with K Ching surprises at checkout in Kmart stores. Earn bonus rewards during exclusive promotions throughout the year. I will start looking more closely at the sale papers on Sundays to see if there are good deals that I can get there and earn reward points. I will keep you posted on my success in the Kmart rewards program...While I was at Kmart today I picked up 4 bags of Hershey's Pieces Candy...they were on sale for 2/$5 and there was a mail in rebate for a $10 Kmart gift card good for the purchase of Hershey's chocolate. I had (3) $1/1 coupons for the Pieces candy so my total OOP was $7.70 so by sending in the mail in rebate this was a money maker!!!!

January 2010

Well after my first full month of couponing and tracking my savings in 2010 here is how I finished for the month for groceries and other personal care items for a family of 3 plus 2 cats........

Total Value: $770.05

Total Savings from BOGO and Sales: $162.74

Total Savings from coupons: $266.04

Total OOP(Out of Pocket): $350.27

This was a 55% savings...not too bad and it was less than $400 for the month for a family of 3 plus 2 cats.......

I will post my savings each week with my shopping trip photos and also post my monthly total at the end of the month.....

All You Magazine Deal

There is an awesome deal right now on All You Magazine Subscription...just 67 cents per issue. This is one of the best magazines out there for coupons. The only place you can buy it off the shelf is at Walmart so it is much easier to just get a subscription and have it mailed directly to you home.

To Order:
1. Go here

2. Click “Click here to support our Group”

3. Enter your address (if you enter your email, you will also get email confirmation of the order and refund).

4. Pick All You or any other magazine and check out

You will see your $13 credit reflected immediately after your charge on your statement.
(If you want to renew at this price you can just enter your name and mailing address exactly as your current subscription has it. If you want two copies each month then enter an order under someone else’s name in your house).

Once you order it takes 10-12 weeks to receive your first issue so be ready to wait a little bit.

Thanks to my friends over at http://www.southernsavers.com/ for the heads up on this awesome deal on this magazine.

Testing link to facebook

I am really new to this blogging thing so I am testing to see if I have this linked to my page on facebook correctly so that this automatically posts to facebook when I post a new blog....

Getting Started

Okay here we go....I have started this blog to have a place to have others find the deals easily that I am getting each week at the store. Come here often to find great deals out there and find out how I do each trip to the stores I frequent. Let me know if you have anything in particular you would like to see me cover in my blog. I am new at this so be patient with me and hopefully you will find things that will be helpful. Just an FYI...I will start hosting coupon workshops in the month of February so stay tuned for more info regarding that coming soon...
